I am amazed and sad to know you guys have been playing so long and I never run across you. You played at a lot of venues I frequented throughout my life. (Mid 70's- until now) From the OK Corral in Massena NY, The Hulla Baloo in Rensselaer, JB Scott in Albany, Uncle/USA Sam's , the Gin Mill, City Limits, Poorhouse North, Tip Redux, Club 37 etc. in Syracuse and that area. By the way, sadly, I think most of those bars are all gone, but the memories are still there, mostly. Rock on and perhaps we'll see you down south in the future! I'll definitely be watching for you.

Hi Tim,
Good to hear from you. 1981 or so sounds about right for this video. We recorded Pink Lightning and wanted to do a video but thought a "live" video would be better since we played out so much back then. I can't recall where we shot the video but we took the picture for a promotional poster at Al's Warehouse in Oswego so maybe there??
Take care and stay safe. Chris

Hi Barb,
Thank you for the message. Yes, I remember Anita! It's great that the songs bring back fond memories. Here's another website with New York Flyer info: https://www.reverbnation.com/newyorkflyers
Best, Chris

Hi I am Barb originally from Florida. Back in the early 80’s
I was 13 years old.
I received 2 albums that year the New York Flyers & AC/DC. Both the albums came from Phil bc he knew my big sister Anita very well & asked her who my favorite band was. She told him AC/DC & he purchased that album for me.
Both albums were a wonderful introduction to great rock and roll. So I was pleasantly surprised to find your website & original album. Listening to the songs is pure nostalgia for me & though most days I can’t remember why I went to the other room, for some reason I remember almost every word to all the songs. I had no idea the group was still/back together so now I have to check out your new music too. Thank you!
You made my day. Hope things are good in NYC For you during this crazy year. #RockOn 🎶

New Year's Eve, Allen's, Scotia, NY, 1980 ... on the bill, 805 + New York Flyers. Wow, nights like those just went on forever ... until they didn't. Damn.

I remember seeing the band at Alexanders in Watertown. This was very soon after the release of VH 1, and Chris Tso played Eruption note for note as I recall. I was very impressed with that. Long before the days of YouTube tutorials, he had it down. Nothing worse than a watered down version of that solo, and there were many, so I always remembered how good this band was. The band has my attention to this very day.
